These strange definitions denote our uniforms and their components that make up the equipment of
every singer. It is worth stopping for a while to deal with the uniforms so important for the
Chorus. Almost immediately, that is when we start being invited more and more frequently, it
becomes necessary to wear a uniform in front of the audience. As our musical genre has its own
peculiarity, we look for a uniform identifying us also from a choreographic point of view. We
reject anonymous sports clothes as well as dark suits with ties inappropriate for ropes, peaks
and flasks of wine; on the contrary we choose the classic uniform of alpinists, that is flannel
shirts, knickerbockers, heavy wollen stockings and climbing shoes (to be precise at first we wore
black ski trousers and boots). ![]() Nowadays one could object that that solution was easy, but then it was not so. Soon our uniform proves to be a true visiting card, it is our message to the audience before we start singing; when one sees the Chorus on the stage or in a photograph one soon recognizes the world of our songs and their peculiar atmosphere. With the passing of the time, we have got to like our uniform more and more and we have always respected it singing with great enthusiasm the melodies that made us choose such a uniform. We took part in a competition "for the most beautiful uniform" and we got a prize: perhaps because we sang well, but also because we were good looking on the stage! But why chickens? or better chickens uniform? Home Page |
